Scarlett had been at leisure recently, which was rare, hence she happily lied around at home. Having said that, after just lying for two days, she was forced by Alexis to go to a dinner party.

Just as she entered the venue, before she found Alexis, she bumped into an old acquaintance.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk, if it isn’t Sister-In-Law. Oh no, I forgot, you’re not my sister-in-law anymore!”

Tiffany’s perplexing voice drew many people’s attention. Scarlett looked at her and asked, “Can I help you, Miss Shaw?”

“No, I’m just curious how you got the invitation to come here! The invitees for today’s dinner party are all respected people. You’re only a gold-digger, so who did you cling to to get in?”

Juanton was neither too big nor too small, but it was the same bunch of people who came and went in the same circle.

This kind of dinner party was only meant for people in the upper class. The onlookers who were waiting to see Scarlett make a fool out of herself at the moment were the same people who stepped on her and insulted her during the three years.

As the Shaw family’s eldest daughter, Tiffany’s words were quite weighty among the daughters of rich families. Since she took the lead to exclude and bully someone, the others who wanted to fawn over the Shaw family naturally followed suit.

Scarlett could not help but grin. She lifted her finger and pointed at Alexis, who was behind Tiffany. “You’ll have to ask Miss Carter then.”

Alexis was bejeweled as the spokesperson today. Her aura was strong, such that she attracted a lot of attention as soon as she entered the venue.

She saw from a distance away that Scarlett was being surrounded. Before she even reached Scarlett, she heard Tiffany, the little b*tch, making trouble again.

Alexis turned pale with anger. She walked straight over in her 12-centimeter-high high heels and squeezed through the crowd to get in front of Scarlett. Like an eagle protecting chicken, she looked down at Tiffany coldly. “You’re in no place to make thoughtless remarks about my friend!”

Her words were simply an invisible slap on Tiffany’s face. Tiffany was slightly pale and wanted to say something, but Alexis was an A-lister and the spokesperson of this jewelry brand. Even if the brand were to kick anyone out, they would not kick Alexis away.

Tiffany could not offend Alexis, thus she could only give Scarlett a death stare.

Scarlett smirked at Tiffany. She slightly swept her gaze across the surprised people around her, then she held a glass of grape juice and turned around to leave this gossipy circle.

Alexis followed behind her. The coldness on her face had not faded away, so nobody dared to strike up a conversation with her along the way.

Scarlett picked a quiet corner and stopped. She clicked her tongue softly and commented, “Not bad, you can fool people quite well!”

Alexis’ face instantly changed because there were no outsiders present. She looked cheerfully at Scarlett and asked, “Why are you dressed so plain today?”

Scarlett only wore a black slim-fitting slip dress today. Her long hair was loosely draped behind her. Apart from a pair of diamond earrings, there were no other accessories on her.

On the contrary, while Alexis’ purple long dress was not considered gorgeous, the string of diamonds on her wrist and neck, as well as the tassel earrings on her ears, were splendid and classy.

Scarlett sipped a mouthful of grape juice. She carelessly smiled with her peach blossom eyes, and she looked indifferently at Alexis without saying anything.

Scarlett knew she was making her happy. She smiled and did not say anything.

Alexis cleared her throat. “There’s a showroom inside. Do you want to go and take a look?”

Scarlett knew Alexis had always liked these shiny jewels since she was young. Her eyebrows twitched slightly.

“Alright, I’m bored anyway.”

The brand had set up a showroom at the dinner party, where new seasonal products were displayed. Since there were many daughters of rich families here tonight, it was also considered a small exhibition.

It was clear that the series of jewelry in the showroom was the kind that ordinary people could not afford. The cheapest bracelet cost 170,000 dollars, not to mention those necklaces that cost hundreds of thousands or a million each.

Scarlett was not as enthusiastic about jewelry as Alexis, and she had only come to accompany Alexis. There were many people in the showroom, and Alexis had a cold persona in public. Scarlett felt that it was more interesting to watch her restrain herself than to look at those necklaces and bracelets.

“Elder Sister Julie, this necklace matches you so well. It’s simply tailored for you!”

Tiffany’s voice was not loud, but they happened to be just three showcases away. Scarlett and Alexis heard her clearly.

Alex did not even have the mood to look at jewelry anymore when she saw Alexis. She tugged at Scarlett and went over. “Does this necklace look nice?”

She looked at the necklace inside the showcase and asked seemingly without thinking.

Scarlett looked at the showcase and raised her eyebrow slightly. “It’s okay.”

“Do you like it? If you like it, I’ll go and get one for you. I heard that there are only three of them in total.”

Scarlett lifted her eyebrows and lowered her head a little as though she was thinking seriously. She answered after some time, “I don’t like it.”

Alexis scoffed. “Well, it looks nice, but it’s not worthy of you.”

It was worth noting that Alexis could grasp her temperament perfectly in front of other people.

If she had said this earlier, it would have been nothing. Nonetheless, just after Tiffany said that the necklace matched Julie well, and Julie herself was also looking at it and was somewhat moved, Alexis suddenly pulled Scarlett over and said that it was not worthy of Scarlett.
