Chapter 4

His words were like a sharp blade that pierced straight into Ava’s chest,

making her bleed.

The pain made her tremble all over. She quickly reached out to hold onto the

table to steady herself.

Karen smiled and looked at Ava with a mocking expression. “Damien,

although you’re right, it doesn’t change the fact that you’re married to her.

You can’t just not have a baby forever.”

She patted Damien on the shoulder and said, “It’s actually easy to have a

baby. You just have to switch off the lights and close your eyes. As long as

you’re able to get her pregnant with a son, I don’t care about anything else.”

Karen sounded like she didn’t see Ava as a person at all.

She treated Ava like nothing but a child-bearing machine, the kind with no

dignity at all!

pain and humiliation throughout the past two years. If she divorced him so

easily, it would mean that she admitted defeat!

Since Damien was making her life difficult, she would make sure that he didn’t get to live a good life

too!

Ava stood up abruptly and said with a cold expression, “I’m done eating. Enjoy your meal!”

After speaking, she turned and left.

Karen frowned, and her expression immediately became tremendously dark. She rose and shouted,

“Ava Nagel, stop right there!”

To Karen, Ava was nothing but a sl*tty woman who forced herself upon Damien. Not only was she an

immoral woman, but her mother was also a mistress. No matter how Karen thought about it, she didn’t

think that Ava was a good match for Damien and a suitable daughter-in-law for the Radbury family.

Since she had lowered her expectations and let Ava join their family, she felt that Ava should know her

place and attend to the members of the Radbury family obediently and meekly like the lowly woman

she was.

But this shameless woman actually acted so arrogantly in front of them!

However, after hearing what Karen said, Ava continued walking forward without looking back.

She knew that if she were to stay, Karen would just continue humiliating her.

Since she married into Radbury family, Karen had been bullying her non-stop.

In the beginning, she endured it because she felt that she should respect Karen, who was Damien’s

mother. Besides, she did marry into the Radburry family through unscrupulous means, so she felt

guilty. But this didn’t mean that she should allow them to bully her however they wanted like she was a

slave!

“Ava Nagel, I’m telling you to stop!” Karen flew into a rage and ran after Ava.

Ava continued ignoring her.

“Ava Nagel, you’re rebelling against me, huh?” With a dark expression, Karen raised her hand to call

the servants over. “Stop her from leaving and bring her here!”

The servants working at the Radbury family’s residence looked at one another. They didn’t dare to

move.

They were just servants, but Ava was, after all, the daughter-in-law of the

Radbury family. Of course, they didn’t dare to do anything to her.

“All of you are also rebelling against me, huh! Do you want me to fire you?”

When Karen saw that none of them were moving, she threatened them.

The servants had no choice but to brave themselves and stop Ava.

“Get out of the way!” Ava was also annoyed, and she stared fiercely at the

servants.

“Bring her to me! Waste anymore time and I’ll fire all of you!” Karen gave an

ultimatum.

The servants didn’t dare to hesitate anymore. They grabbed Ava’s arms.

“What are you doing? Let go of me?” Ava couldn’t fight against so many

people, and the servants dragged her back into the dining room.

Karen said angrily, “Ava Nagel, it seems that you have no respect for the

Radbury family and me at all! Since you are such an uneducated woman, I

should really teach you a lesson!”

She pointed at the basement. “Drag her into the basement and lock her

inside there for a day and a night. You’re not allowed to let her out within

twenty-four hours!”

The two servants dragged her all the way into the basement obediently.
